FC Barcelona, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, Catalunya Convention Bureau and Xocolates Simón Coll among those recognized at the 40th edition of the CETT Alimara Awards

The CETT Alimara Awards recognize creativity, innovation and excellence in the tourism, gastronomy and hospitality sector and this year celebrated their 40th anniversary.
40th edition of the CETT Alimara Barcelona Awards
FC Barcelona, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, Catalunya Convention Bureau and Xocolates Simón Coll, were among those recognized at the 40th edition of the CETT Alimara Barcelona Awards. Presented this Thursday at the Alimara Night, at Hotel Alimara, the awards recognize products, services, strategies and initiatives that stand out for their innovation in areas such as communication, digitalization, sustainability and research in the tourism, hotel and gastronomy sectors.
The CETT Alimara Barcelona Awards, organized by CETT together with B-Travel and with the collaboration of UN Tourism and the Department of Language Policy of the Generalitat de Catalunya, have established themselves as a benchmark meeting point for the sector and bring together companies, institutions and professionals. Throughout its 40-year history, 535 projects from 316 different entities have been awarded. In this edition, more than 80 candidatures have been received.
The president of CETT, Dr. Maria Abellanet, said: “It is an honor to celebrate 40 years and reach this milestone with partners of the level of B-Travel, with whom we share a passion for the tourism industry, with awards that adapt to the challenges of a sector that is redefining and evolving in terms of quality and well-being”.
Martí Sarrate, president of the B-Travel Tourism Show, says: “It is an honor to share with CETT the delivery of the CETT Alimara Awards, especially on its fortieth anniversary. The specialization and the level of the projects presented are surpassed each edition and we would like to congratulate the jury for their excellent work”.

Through Experiences
For marketing and communication projects of organizations that generate an inspiring, emotional and/or motivational experience in their public or user.
- Birding Ebre Pirineus, by Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Tarragona - Terres de l'Ebre and Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Lleida.
- Earth Lab on Six Senses Ibiza, by Six Senses Ibiza.
Through Sustainability
For proposals for organizations' commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
- Inclusive mountain guides, by Guies d'Arrel.
- San Andrés de Teixido, by Eu Fun de Vivo.
Through Digitalization
For initiatives that stand out for the application of technologies related to the digital field.
- European BEFuture project, by Agència Catalana de Turisme – Catalunya Convention Bureau.
- SMARTCAMP, by Associació de Càmpings de Girona.
Through Research
For applied research and its contribution to responding to the challenges facing the sector.
- Use of online reviews for tourism intelligence and the establishment of transparent and reliable evaluation standards (TourRev), by Universitat de Lleida and Universidad de Murcia.
- Development of the axes of intelligent tourist destinations in hotels in the Valencian Region, by Universitat d’Alacant.
Out-of-competition awards
The 3 Pioneers Award
The award, created jointly by the Fundació Jordi Comas Matamala, the CETT Fundació and the Fundació Climent Guitart, recognizes those people or institutions that, from any field, have been pioneers and have contributed to the development and improvement of tourism in Catalonia. Each foundation awards a prize to 3 pioneers.
On this occasion, the CETT Fundació gives it to:
- Vallet family, founder of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts.
CETT Fundació wants to recognize the spirit of an enterprising family that has driven the company to become one of the leading hotel chains in Catalonia, a multinational present in 25 destinations in 8 countries and 3 continents. A family and intergenerational project, which highlights the international vision and vocation towards sustainability and people.
- Paco Solé Parellada, for his career and academic legacy.
Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, researcher and promoter of innovation with a career of weight in academia. In his role as a restaurateur, he is a reference in innovation, management and entrepreneurship with his restaurant 7 Portes, a space of culture, history and gastronomic dissemination that preserves and recovers recipes of Catalan cuisine, promotes the products of the country and encourages gastronomic events linked to its culture.
Alimara CAT Award
Co-organized with the Generalitat de Catalunya, it is for Xocolates Simón Coll, for its clear communication, expressed in Catalan, in which the correctness of the language and the good use made of it are valued.
CETT students award
Among all the entries submitted to the competition, CETT students have distinguished “Tools for sustainable events” by Catalunya Convention Bureau.
CETT Special Alimara Award
Awarded to FC Barcelona, on the occasion of its 125th anniversary, for the club's international projection of Catalonia and Barcelona as a tourist destination throughout its history and its social commitment.
Honor Award
Awarded to Dr. Juan Tugores Ques in recognition of his academic career and his emblematic figure in the Catalan university world.
