English
The level of English you will achieve will be the equivalent of C1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
What level do I need to have to take the Bachelor Degree?
- General access level to the Bachelor Degree: The minimum level of English required when entering English 1 corresponds to B.1.1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (MECR).
- Specific access level to the Bachelor Degree 100% in English: To be able to access the English track of the Bachelor Degree in Tourism (GT), it is recommended that the student has a level of at least B2.2 (equivalent to the completion level from English 2).
How will each student's level be assigned?
In order to identify the student's level of competence when they begin their tourism studies and to be able to assign them to the group that adapts to their level, as well as to officially recognize the levels previously acquired, new access students have to perform a Level test. This test allows the students to be informed of the language level that corresponds to them according to the curricular structure of the Bachelor's Degree. It has no academic value, but it is mandatory for all students.
Afterwards they can also take an Accreditation test. It is a test recognized and certified by the School of Modern Languages of the University of Barcelona. Through this test, the student who has a level higher than that established as entry is identified.

Placement test and certification exams
In order to identify the level of the students’ competence at the beginning of their tourism studies at EUHT CETT-UB and assign them to their corresponding level, as well as to recognize officially the levels they have achieved, students can do two types of tests:
1. Placement Test: This is a diagnostic test that enables the students to know which is their English language level according to the curricular structure of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism. As a diagnostic test it is carried out before enrollment takes place and has no academic value.
If a new student shows a level lower than the minimum required
If as a result of the Placement Test a student's English level is lower than the minimum required, he/she will be offered to enroll in English Communication in Tourism: Beginner (Level 1) in a special intensive group. The intensive course includes a supplement of complementary instruction which has an additional cost.
Students cannot enroll in subsequent levels without having passed the previous ones.
If a new student shows a level higher than the required
If as a result of the placement test a student's English level is high enough to access a higher level, he/she may choose to take ** the Accreditation Test**. The students who pass this exam acquire a certificate issued by the School of Modern Languages of the University of Barcelona. This certificate allows them to request the recognition of credits. Once the course credits are recognized, the course is recorded as passed in the student's academic record. This allows the student to enroll in a higher level course.
Requesting credit recognition is the student’s own responsibility, and the students who decide not to benefit from this option must enroll in the first year course.
2. Accreditation Test: This test is recognized by the School of Modern Languages of the University of Barcelona.
