External Practices Recognition

Academic recognition of curricular practices

Work and professional experience, as long as it is related to the skills of the degree that the student is pursuing, can give the option of recognizing credits. Extra-curricular internships are not likely to be used for credit recognition.

As a general rule, the maximum number of credits that can be recognized is 15% of the total credits of the degree.

Only those students who:

  • They enroll in the internship subjects they want to validate
  • They have completed the work experience at most one academic year before the current academic year
  • They are made under an accepted legal coverage (employment contract or service provision contract).
  • The functional content of the practices or collaboration in the company is validated by the academic tutor of the subject, that is, the Department of Career Services.
  • They fulfill the minimum dedication to the practices that the academic accreditation of the enrolled Practicum requires:
  • The internship hours have not been used to validate other subjects with regulated academic content.

The documentation to present is:

  • Recognition request sheet.
  • Work life report certifying 300 hours worked in the sector.
  • Company certificate accrediting the functions performed

The presentation of all the documentation required to recognize the credits must be presented within the established deadlines each academic year.

The rubric (final grade) of the curricular practice subjects if the recognition of credits is chosen will be a 5.

Academic recognition of Extra-curricular internships

Extracurricular internships have academic recognition through the European Diploma Supplement, according to current regulations

After the internship, at the request of the student, the Center will issue an accrediting certificate that must contain the following:

a) The name of the student who has done the internship.

b) The name of the company or institution where the student has done the internship and the period of their stay.

c) Copy of the student's training project, where the activities and content developed during the internship period are described.

The model of the certificate accrediting the practices must facilitate communication with companies or institutions, and offer a homogeneous way of transmitting the contents and results of the practices. In the same way, it should also favor information for the international mobility of students.
